Please check our NEWS page for up to date advice.
Please leave our phone lines clear for those sick or vulnerable patients who need to speak to us.
Please DO NOT ATTEND SURGERY unless you have a booked appointment with a doctor or a nurse.
If you need to see a doctor, please call the surgery and you will be called back by a GP who will assess you. If you need to be seen you will be given an appointment. Alternatively, click on the online services tab above and register for doctorlink - this is our online triage service. You will be asked to complete a symptom checker and then be given appropriate advice. If the advice is that you should see a doctor, you will be contacted to book an appointment.
Chronic disease reviews like asthma or diabetes will be carried out over the phone. If you already have a review booked, please do not come to surgery, the nurse will call you at your appointment time. Please make sure we have your up to date telephone number.
We will still be performing smears, baby and child vaccinations, wound dressings, urgent blood tests, contraceptive services and important health injections, but we ask that if you start to show signs of a new persistent cough or a fever of 37.8 or more that you cancel your appointment and follow public health advice to self isolate for 7 days.
All other routine appointments will be postponed for the foreseeable future. If you have an appointment booked that we intend to cancel we will ring you to let you know.
Booked appointments with other healthcare professionals, like counsellors or midwives may be subject to similar changes. They will contact you directly if you are going to be affected. We ask that you are responsible and cancel any appointments if you begin to have any of the symptoms mentioned above.
When you order your medications, we request that you allow us to send your repeat prescription directly to a pharmacy of your choice.
***Herries Road Surgery has had to close temporarily***
Due to staff sickness, we have taken the difficult decision to close the surgery in the short-term in the best interests of our patients’ and staff. We are fully committed to getting the surgery open again just as soon as we have enough clinical staff to provide safe, quality services.
During this time, services will be moved to Burngreave Surgery. Patients who need advice, a prescription or to see a GP or nurse should call the usual number – 0114 2725619. They will be able to access appointments at Burngreave Surgery.
We thank you for your patience and understanding with this matter. This new system will allow us to protect both patients and staff whilst still continuing to provide healthcare to our community.
Thank you for you cooperation.
